Life Saving isn't for Everyone

There's a ten year gap between me and my sisters so it's kind of hard to relate to them without getting myself in any trouble, mostly because I'm 'just a kid'. Either way, I was excited to tell them this story because there's no way I can get in trouble for helping someone. So I rushed home, and luckily when I found them they were both sitting at the table doing nothing.
I sat down at the table with them and got started,
"So today, I was walking home from school and I'm just listening to music, minding my business, when I hear somebody calling out. I was ready to ignore it and move on but it sounded like he was was asking for help. I glanced around and noticed it was some dude up in his apartment."
"The Fuck?" My sister cut in with a weirded out expression on her face.
I continued, "Right! I wasn't really into it anymore, so I tried to ignore him but we already made eye contact and I had to cross the street towards him anyway, in order to get home."
"So what did he want?", she asked.
"Well apparently he locked himself in his room and left the stove running by accident", I told her.
"What type of bullshit?", she said with another weirded out expression on her face. They both were starting to look concerned, but I continued now that I had their interest. "Yea, I asked if he had anyone he could call but apparently he had already been stuck for more than 3 hours and his phone had died. So I was like 'I'LL SAVE YOU!', so then he tossed his keys down to me, gave me his apartment number and I ran up there and saved his fucking life!"
"How?", my other sister asked.
Annoyed by their lackluster response to me saving a life, I responded, "What you mean, 'how'? I just walked in, turned off the stove, and unlocked his door. I free'd him!"
"Oh", she responded, followed by a snickered laugh, and then she continued, "You shouldn't have done that. What if he was some type of predator and that was all just some trick to get you?"
Well it wasn't, but I couldn't tell her that because she had a point. So all I could say was, "Yea", then I continued, "Either way I saved a life today."
In hindsight that situation was really sketchy and could've ended much worse, but he did give me money for saving him, so I regret nothing. On the other hand, I wouldn't want my kid in that same situation. Luckily, I told my sisters before my parents.
